Successful marriages has solid foundation.Jesus Christ,our Lord and Saviour is the only solid foundation for a meaninful life and marriage.You need Jesus in your home for the marriage to thrive.
Jesus is the solid Rock;the Rock of Ages,the Rock that never fails.Any man and any home without Christ Jesus experience crises.When you have Jesus,you have love,joy, peace,gentleness,long suffering,temperance(self control),faith and grace which are all bedrock for a blissful and a happy marriage.
God has a foundation on which He builds marriage and that foundation is love.This refers to the agape kind of love and not the sensual and emotional kind of love.This is the love that gives and gives and gives again and again.The sacrificial type of love.
FACTORS AFFECTING MARRIAGE UNION
Factors that militate against the success of many homes and marriage are outlined below.
There are forces of evil who dont want to see stable homes and marriages.A stable home glorifies God and make for a strong society and nation
*Lost of first love-The passing away of the initial love with time is the bane of a successful marriage.
*Neglect of God given responsibilities in the home.
*Unrestraint incurssion of third party in the home.This include interference from parents,friends,inlaws,confidants and even some so called counsellors.
*Delay in child bearing.
*Frustration and depression.
*Incompatibility.
*Financial mismanagement.
*Lack of sufficient fund and that of low income
*Infedelity and unfaithfulness.
*Debate and disagreement.
*Heated argument in the home.
*hatred,envy and jealousy.
*Greed and covetousness.
*Lack of contentment.
*Lack of courtesy and improper communication.
*Unforgiving spirit.
*Offences and misunderstanding.
*Sickness and diseases.
*Poverty and pernury.
*Immaturity of either of the partners.
REMEDY FOR A BROKEN MARRIAGE
Marriage is suppose to give happiness and fulfilment in life.God being the founder and builder of successful marriages is strongly and solidly behind the marriages of His children.
Invite Jesus in to your your heart and life by faith.Get in to a personal relationship with Jesus,receive Him as your personal Lord and Saviour.Then,He will forgive your sins and give you a new life for a new beginning and a new marriage.You can't really make it without Jesus.
*Renew your commitment to your marriage vows.Dont break the covenant.
*Readily forgive past offences.
*Be humble enough to say "Iam Sorry"
*Rebuild the family altar-the family that prays together stays together.
*Be open minded,let there be freedom of communication.
*Set a limit to third party involvement in your family affairs.
*Dont ever contemplate divorce,it is not the solution.
*Be faithful to your partner;one man one wife is the uniform teaching of the scriptures(the holy Bible).This is the will of God for man.
*Let there be love and submission one to another.

THE MYSTERY OF MARRIAGE
Marriage is the coming together of a man and a woman as husband and wife,cleaving together in a life long covenant relationship.
Marriage is central to human existence as it is a God ordained institution.
God knows what is good for man and as a result He establish the marriage union ever before the fall of man in the garden of Eden when man was in his perfect state.
God is the founder and builder of the marriage institution.This is the first institution on the surface of the earth which is yet to produce a graduate.
PURPOSE OF MARRIAGE
Let's consider the divine plan and purpose of God for marriage.Every act of God is with a reason and so for marriage there is a reason.
Companionship-Marriage is the only institution divinely designed to fill this natural gap of affection and lonliness in man.It makes for companionship,sharing and living.
Partnership-Husband and wife are parners in progress.It becomes a mystery that two seperate individuals with distinct personalities,coming from different backgrounds with different plans and ambitions in life,to live and share together in the marriage union.
Procreation-"Go therefore,be fruitful and multiply" is God's command to man.This creative will of God is fulfil in marriage.The husband and wife are co-partners with God in the work of creating human life.
Preservation-Man is fulfilled as well as preservedas long as the marriage union is concerned.Human dignity and sanity is preserved as well.The society at large is equally sanitised by way of marriage,Preserved from evil and confusion.
Purity-Unlike the animal kingdom,man was created in the image and likeness of the Almighty God.God is holy you know!It is likewise expected of man to be holy.Marriage union makes it a possibility for the natural instinct and yearnings in man for copulation and affection to be expressed.
Health-Good health is paramount in God's plan for mankind.Through marriage,man is able to escape the hazards and infections associated with immoral and licentious living.Pandermic like HIV(AIDs) and STDs are a forgotten issue as long as faithfulness and fidelity in marriage is concerned.
Intimacy-The deepest and closest of all human relationships.
Unity-Two are better than one.
Power-Power with God and man.At man's disposal is the awesome power and authority given by God himself to be demonstrated within the context of marriage.
Marriage therefore is the total commitment of two hearts to one another,joined together in will,emotion,desire and ambition.
In essence,it is two seperate lives becoming one.
The success of one partner becomes the success of the other.The problems and challenges of one partner becomes the challenge of the other.
So we can rightly say that in marriage union,husband and wife become intricately woven together in the bond of love,united in body,soul and spirit.

THE PERSONALITY OF JESUS
Jesus is the Son of God,the second Person in the Godhead(Trinity).
He is the central focus of human history.
Before Jesus' birth,all dates are BC and after His birth,all dates are AD.
Jesus is the Alpha and Omega;the Bridegroom of the church and the Bread of life.
The Captain of our salvation and the Deliverer from all dominions of the devil.
Jesus is the Friend of sinners;the Guide to life eternal.
He is the Healer of all diseases;the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
He is the Liberator that came to set us free from all iniquities and infirmities.
Jesus is the Intercessor who is pleading for us in heaven;the Joy of the whole earth.
He is the Master over the storms of life;His Name is above every other name that is named either in heaven,on earth or beneath.
The Prince of peace is He;the Quickener of the dead;the Supreme sin bearer,Saviour and Sanctifier cleansing us from self and sin.
He is the Redeemer from death and the curse of the law;the Truth that transforms and sets free;the Victorious one and the Worker of wonders.
Jesus is the nearest Kinsman;the Lion of the tribe of Judah;the never failing Sunshine,the Lily of the valley,the Bright and Morning Star.He is the cooling factor where there's fire,the Peace maker where there's strife.
All we want is in Jesus.He satisfies,life He supplies.Life will be worthless without Him.If in utter helplessness we cast our all on Christ,He will be to us the whole treasure of God
However,Christ cannot be your Saviour unless He is first your Lord.He is the one whom you can approach without fear.He is the one before whom you may abase yourself without despair.You cannot follow Christ Jesus and go astray.
